Photo Friday Urban

January 9, 2009

This photo is one I took upon arriving in the NYC train station under Madison Sq Gardens…   Well, I didn’t take it, Jimmi did.

amtrak

I traveled by Amtrak to New York and was hoping to win a free trip by sending in a pic of me holding the magazine…     Can’t get more urban than a train station in New York City, can I?

I’m off to a job interview…  gotta go!

I don’t have much time to play on the PC on Fridays, actually from Thursday evenings, so this will be quick.  I dedicate this photo to Mrs. Nascar!     It’s a view from our rental car of the Kansas Speedway, looking east.     Taken in February 2008.

Photo Friday: ACTION!

November 7, 2008

Today’s Photo Friday theme is action shots…  which means that I have MORE photos of my wonder-Pup Oscar!   At times, he goes into a mode we fondly refer to as ‘devil dog’.    This is Oscar being wild.

(the click HERE thingy above isn’t working and I don’t have a lot of time to fight with my PC this morning so, I invite and encourage you to visit Jan/Author, Host of Photo Friday, by clicking:  http://j9marshall.wordpress.com/2008/10/10/photo-friday-night/)

This is what my house looks like at night.   I was playing with the night setting on my camera but I’m not impressed.   All sorts of red images show through the viewfinder warning me, or inviting me to review other settings I’m sure, but alas, I can’t read the manual outside.  at night.  Enjoy, anyway!

And this next one is a photo of my dog.  At night.  In the dark.

My neighbor’s butterfly bush that is threatening to overcome the entire front of the house…

Autumn Sedem

My next door neighbor’s gardens with the musical frogs.

An annoying pesky weed that actually looks pretty in bloom.

The blooms of the Hydrangea that fade to purple – I love purple!

It’s hard to be MUM about these bright flowers!

One of the biggest Chrysanthemum plants I’ve seen.

And finally,  this next photo is a big yellow reminder that Fall is here…

It was one of those perfect English autumnal days which occur more frequently in memory than in life…

* I apologize for my tardiness.  I don’t get access to the PC on Fridays if the hub works from home.  (I know, LOUSY excuse – I could of prepped this on Thursday…)   and it rainedRAINEDrained all freakin’ day.    I spent most of my time reading and baking pies and cooking up a scrumptious dinner.

Photo Friday: Food

I posted the above and thought it was just a little boring.  What will you all comment on?  “Nice Fruit.”   ya whatever, right?
SO please do click on the Photo Friday badge at the top to get to Author’s list of everyone who participates.   Or good bet, that the comments I get today will be from others who have photos of food to share.   Photos to share of food.   another whatever….
I was behind the 8ball for this one…   I sure wish I could have taken a pic of the CostaRicaIndependenceDayCelebration Dinner we had on Sept 15.  We had black beans and rice, grilled chicken AND steak, salad with homegrown tomatos, and pineapple for dessert.   (You’ll just have to imagine it…)   And then later in the week, I decided it was time for PESTO.   I make mine from the Pace Picante cookbook which is only spinach, pecans, parmesan cheese, garlic and Pace Picante sauce.  On linguine – YUMM-O!   (Rachael Ray doesn’t have the expression trademarked, does she?)
SO, this a.m, I grabbed the camera and set up the only fruits I got in the house and snapped a few, then played with the effect.  wa la!
NEXT WEEK IS COLORS!

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,  but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”
