Resignation, Part 2

December 27, 2007

I officially resigned today.     (To read my letter, click here.)

The face to face ‘sit down’, the knowing smile, then hand over the letter.

I also gave L a lead; a couple whose house will be a challenge to sell as well as being a challenge to assist in finding their next.    Cha Ching!  Can you say REFERRAL FEE?   I just may have a chance to make a profit in real estate after all.

I was advised to ‘get out there.’     Don’t sit at home and be sucked into the 2 dimensional world called INTERNET…    It’s possible that my next big career is quietly waiting for me to discover it?

A wonderfully fascinating place to visit if you have time on your hands and skills to offer:   Volunteer Match.  new_logo.gif I’ve signed up to assist with a Reading & Literacy effort at a local library.   Training starts in January.   Shall I volunteer to help seniors understand Medicare?    Could I be one of those dear souls who just ‘be there’ and hold a hand so no one dies alone?    Perhaps handing out cookies at a blood drive….   Or throwing the hammer at Habitat for Humanity logoh.gif    and Homes For Our Troops.   I am making phone calls to inquire about more pet therapy visitations, too.

I want to take a few classes at the community center…   Web Design, Grant Writing, Creative Writing, Pie Making,  BE-Your+Best (rah rah) classes, etc.      I would love to take a Yoga class and definitely a self-defense class.

I am afraid of commitment.   I’m afraid of over-committing!    I’m terrified of a schedule, having been without one for so long;  I really REALLY enjoy my slow pace.

As I like to say to my Hub,

“It takes a lot of time just to be me.”     cghkite.jpg

But it’s time I give back, give more…

Leadership Test

November 19, 2007

Well, isn’t this something…

What Famous Leader Are You?
personality tests by

Ummm?   huh?!  Did I answer correctly?  did I have the agree/disagree confused?

Hallie over at her place invited me to try this little personality test and I must say, I’m almost turned on by this new self-image it is suggesting to me….

Rrrrrr-rarhrr!   (is that how it’s spelled?)

Project Runway Tonight

November 14, 2007

Maybe this is why my Hub seems in a bad mood.    I will demand the big screen tonight!

on Bravo, Season Premiere, Wed Nov 14, 10/9c.  For all things PR – check out this website/blog:

Top 10 Reasons I enjoy this show:

10.  Outrageous personalities.    Such passion, talent, positive/negative, some are ‘real’ and some are just ‘way beyond my experience’.    I enjoy the middle of the show best, when we get to really know some of the players.    Near the end, I tend to want more fashion and less bickering and at the beginning, it’s almost too much just to get everyone and their designs displayed…   But I’m hooked, gotta watch!

9.   Eveyone gets the same ‘theme’ – and yet, widely different and amazing results.    PR showcases and defines individuality.

8.   Education – I learn so much about sewing, fashion, trends, etc.

7.   I adore Tim Gunn.    He’s a fairy Godfather?!    See this  NYDaily News article on why we love PR…   and a previous post of mine on how Tim is helping me with my closet…   also, here.

6.  Project Runway annoys my Hub.   Extremely.   If it was on ESPN, he might watch it.   Nah.    I should have him give his top 10 reasons he HATES the show…

5.   Inspiration.   I have what my unmarried friends call ‘married woman’ style.    I’m still not sure what that means exactly but PR inspires me to be a little more wild in my clothing choices.   Be BOLD.

4.   Inspiration & motivation, some more!   I am inspired to learn to sew!  To make my own clothes ?! or even only to sew on missing buttons.

3.   Heide Klum fascinates me.    She is so beautiful and her attitude contributes to her image.   She has such an ‘I’m up to something’ smile, don’t cha think?

2.   Gives me a show of my very own to watch.   This gives definition to my week, a schedule, if you will.   I always know when it is Wednesday…   I little more exciting than knowing that Friday is Trash day.   Yea, I don’t have enough to do!   I realize that.

1.  TALENT!  and unique talent at that.   Not only do you have to be quickly creative, you have to have the sewing/construction skills to create the concepts.    Time limits, materials cost constraints – wow!

I can’t wait!

Today is Veterans Day

November 12, 2007

No mail today.  No need to run around and wrap up my packages – the USPostal Truck will not be by today.

Which is fine.   I can wait until tomorrow.   And I will proudly display the United States Flag on my house and I will give pause to remember the sacrifices made for my country.

Please visit Homes For Our Troops to learn more about a wonderful organization dedicated to helping our wounded veterans with suitable housing.
